AFRICA LITERACY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (ALDI) is a project of the Victoria Michaels Foundation, a non-profit organization. It offers humanitarian aid and social development programs to rural communities in Africa. The organization provides capacity building, educational, material assistance, and support for maternal Health care in rural and under-served communities.

Established in 2013 by a group of well-meaning individuals, the Victoria Michaels Foundation seeks to provide the orphaned, unattended street children, destitute, outcast, needy and sick persons with love, happiness, physical, mental, emotional, educational support and hope for a brighter tomorrow by focusing on three major areas:-

The ALDI Project will focus holistically on literacy development by engaging stakeholders and donors to promote literacy-enhancing program/projects and campaigns in African countries based on their peculiar literacy need.

Most public 1st and 2nd cycle schools and communities across the African continent are under-resourced and deprived, lacking many basic amenities that may be considered essential or minimum requirements in other parts of the world.

The inability of under privileged parents/ guardians to help support their children in school with basic learning aids such as reading books, writing materials, learning aids, computers, school fees, etc. are some of the challenges being faced in many parts of rural Africa.

Through the ALDI project, the Victoria Michaels Foundation will be embarking on a continental campaign for literacy development support via the creation of libraries, scholarship schemes, technology centers, distribution of books and additional learning aids. We also aim to carry out various teacher-parent and students training workshops for sustainable development.
